Raesha is a self-employed educator and counsellor. As part of her background, she has worked with the Ministry of Education Ethnic Migrant Learning Communities Hub, The University of Canterbury, Canterbury Men’s Centre, and Petersgate Counselling Centre.

About Me

Raesha's Counselling Experience

She currently works at Canterbury Men’s Centre, Petersgate Counselling Centre, and in private practice with international clients.

Raesha specialises in pornography addiction, sexual trauma and betrayal trauma due to internet infidelity. She counsels clients and couples who have been exposed to risk and harm due to pornography addiction and other unwanted sexual behaviours both within NZ and internationally.

Raesha is trained in Solution Focused Therapy and integrates her practice with Internal Family Systems. Overall holistic health and well-being is a significant part of her work.

Overview

Raesha has worked at NZ Graduate School of Education and the University of Canterbury training teachers for over ten years. She was the Bachelor of Health Science programme coordinator for three years and a health educator for teacher trainees and health science students for five years. During November 2018 Raesha was presented with a Teaching Excellence award by the teaching and learning committee from the College of Education, Health and Human Development teaching awards 2018.

Raesha’s counselling modality is Solution- Focused Therapy integrated with Internal Family Systems. (hyperlink) She has established a unique way of counselling that aligns with trauma-informed care, bicultural and cross-cultural integration. She is passionate about culturally responsive counselling.
